The Board of Education is in the process of consolidating schools to reduce
costs.  The first round had the potential to negatively affect three TAG
Centers (formerly CLE's).  Parent response was overwhelming.  Numerous
issues and concerns were raised by parents and the end result was that two
of the TAG Centers will remain as they are and the third will gain a TAG
Center option for 6th through 8th grade (Henry Ferguson + Eugene
Burroughs), greatly increasing the potential for quality gifted education
options in the Southern part of the county.  

In addition, the Board has revised their criteria for school closures to
include an increased weight for program quality.  This should help as the
Board continues to evaluate the other two regions of the county and, in the
fall, the high schools.  Stay tuned for upcoming proposals.  If you wish to

MSA Report Card - contains data on MSA scores and demographics but
also data on Special Education, Limited English Proficiency, FARMS, Title
1, and 504's.  

School Improvement Plans - contains data on current enrollment - select a
school and then click on the Facts Chart located on the left hand side.

PGCPS Master Plan - contains required responses to Bridge to Excellence
legislation on servicing the needs of gifted students.
